What We Handle
Company blocks in the UAE come from different authorities and for different reasons. We identify the source, understand the reason, and manage the full resolution process on your behalf.
MOHRE Block
Your company file is blocked by the Ministry of Human Resources. You cannot issue new work permits or process employment applications until the block is lifted.
Establishment Card Block
Your immigration establishment card is suspended by GDRFA or ICP. Visa processing and immigration transactions are stopped until the card is restored.
WPS Non-Compliance
The Wage Protection System has flagged late or missing salary payments. We clear the arrears, pay applicable fines, and restore WPS compliance.
Labour Complaint Resolution
An active employee complaint is blocking your company file. We assist in identifying the complaint, responding to MOHRE, and resolving the case.
Outstanding Fines and Penalties
Unpaid government fines from MOHRE, DED, or immigration authorities are preventing normal operations. We identify all outstanding amounts and settle them.
Multi-Authority Blocks
Multiple authorities have blocked the company simultaneously. We coordinate resolution across all relevant bodies to restore full operational status.
Why companies get blocked and what happens next
Late WPS salary payments
After 15 days of salary delay, MOHRE automatically blocks the company file. New work permits cannot be issued until the block is cleared and arrears paid.
Absconding employee reports
When an employee is reported as absconding, the company file can be affected. Unresolved cases accumulate and lead to broader restrictions.
Emiratisation non-compliance
Companies that miss Nafis targets face fines and operational restrictions that escalate the longer they go unaddressed.
Establishment card not renewed
The immigration establishment card has an expiry date. A lapsed card blocks all visa processing for the company until renewal is completed.
Unpaid government fines
Outstanding fines from labour, immigration, or economic department authorities accumulate over time and eventually trigger company-level blocks.
Waiting too long to act
Every day a block stays in place, fines grow and operations are frozen. At 60 days of WPS non-compliance, fines reach AED 5,000 per employee.
How We Resolve Your Block
A fast, managed process from the first call to full restoration of your company's operational status.
- 1
Status Assessment
We check your company status across MOHRE, GDRFA, and DED portals to identify which authorities have placed a block and why.
- 2
Root Cause Identification
We determine the specific reason for each block — WPS arrears, outstanding fines, labour complaints, or documentation issues.
- 3
Fine and Arrear Settlement
We calculate all outstanding amounts, present a clear summary, and settle fines and salary arrears on your behalf.
- 4
Document Preparation
We prepare and submit all required documents to the relevant authority as part of the unblocking application.
- 5
Authority Coordination
We liaise directly with MOHRE, GDRFA, or other authorities, follow up on the application, and track progress until the block is lifted.
- 6
Status Confirmation
We confirm the block has been removed and verify that your company file, work permits, and establishment card are fully operational.
A blocked company loses money every day it stays blocked.
Why speed and experience matter when your operations are on hold.
We Respond the Same Day
When your company is blocked, waiting is not an option. We assess your situation and begin the resolution process on the same day you contact us.
We Know All Three Authorities
MOHRE, GDRFA, and DED each have different processes and requirements. We navigate all of them without trial and error.
We Identify the Real Reason
Companies are often blocked for reasons they are not aware of. We run a full status check across all authorities before advising on next steps.
We Calculate the Full Cost Upfront
Before any payment is made, we identify all outstanding fines, arrears, and fees and present a complete picture of what resolution requires.
We Handle Everything
No government office visits from your side. We prepare the documents, submit the applications, and follow up until the block is removed.
We Prevent It From Happening Again
Once the block is resolved, we advise on what caused it and what needs to change to prevent recurrence.
Company Blocked in the UAE: What You Need to Know
The Two Most Common Types of Block
The majority of company blocks in the UAE come from one of two sources. The first is MOHRE, which automatically blocks companies that fail to process salaries through the Wage Protection System within the required timeframe. Once 15 days pass without a WPS-compliant salary transfer, the company file is blocked and new work permit applications are rejected. The second is GDRFA or ICP, which can suspend the company's establishment card. Both blocks can occur simultaneously, and resolving one does not automatically resolve the other.
How Fast Fines Escalate
The cost of a MOHRE block increases significantly with time. At 15 days of WPS non-compliance, the block is placed and work permits are frozen. At 60 days, a fine of AED 5,000 per affected employee applies. If salary payments are made through fake or non-compliant WPS transactions, the fine reaches AED 20,000 per employee. Acting within the first 15 days prevents the block entirely. Acting quickly after a block is placed limits the total financial damage.
Why the Reason Is Not Always Obvious
Companies are frequently surprised by blocks because the notification system is not always clear. Some blocks are triggered automatically by the WPS system with no direct communication to the company. Others result from complaints or regulatory actions the company may not be immediately aware of. The first step is a full status check across MOHRE, GDRFA, and DED portals to identify all active blocks and their specific causes.
What Cannot Happen While the Block Is Active
A blocked company cannot issue new work permit applications. If the establishment card is also blocked, broader visa transactions are affected. New hires cannot start work legally and the company's ability to operate at full capacity is frozen until the block is cleared. The longer the block remains, the greater the operational disruption and the higher the accumulated fines.

Frequently Asked Questions

How long does it take to remove a company block in the UAE?
The timeline depends on the type and number of blocks. A straightforward MOHRE block caused by WPS arrears that are immediately settled can be resolved within three to five business days. Blocks involving labour complaints, Emiratisation issues, or multiple authorities may require seven to fourteen business days. We assess the specific situation at the start and provide a realistic timeline.
How do I know which authority has blocked my company?
The easiest way is to check the MOHRE portal for labour-related blocks and the GDRFA portal for establishment card status. In many cases the reason is not clearly stated. We run a full status check across all relevant authorities as the first step in every engagement.
Can fines be waived or reduced?
In some cases, yes. MOHRE has provisions for fine reduction under specific circumstances, particularly for companies that act quickly and demonstrate genuine compliance intent. This is not guaranteed and depends on the nature and history of the violation. We advise on realistic options based on your specific situation.
What happens if we do nothing?
Fines continue to accumulate. At 60 days of WPS non-compliance, fines reach AED 5,000 per employee. Beyond financial penalties, an unresolved block can escalate to judicial referral for companies with 50 or more employees. The practical consequence is an extended operational freeze that becomes progressively more expensive to resolve.
Can we prevent this from happening again?
Yes. Once the block is resolved, we identify the root cause and advise on what processes need to change. The most common preventable causes are WPS salary delays, missed establishment card renewals, and unresolved employee complaints. We can also assist with ongoing compliance monitoring to ensure the company stays in good standing.
