Payroll Works Well If You...
Have 5 or more employees and spend hours every month collecting data, calculating salaries, and uploading to WPS.
Are growing your team and need a reliable process that scales without adding administrative burden.
Have had payroll errors in the past that created tension with employees or compliance issues with MOHRE.
Do not have a dedicated HR function and want payroll handled by someone who knows UAE labour law.
Are about to terminate an employee and need accurate end-of-service calculations before the final payment.
The most common payroll mistakes
Missing WPS deadlines
Late WPS submission triggers fines from MOHRE and can result in business activity suspension.
Incorrect Gratuity calculation
End-of-service benefit differs based on whether the employee resigned or was terminated and on total length of service. A flat formula leads to underpayment or legal disputes.
Wrong leave accrual method
UAE Labour Law specifies how annual leave is accrued and when it can be taken. Incorrect tracking creates disputes at the time of final settlement.
Ignoring the probation period
Employees on probation have different entitlements under UAE Labour Law. Including them in standard calculations creates errors in payroll and end-of-service.
Salary mismatch with visa
The salary paid must match what is stated in the employment contract and visa documentation. Discrepancies create compliance issues with MOHRE.
No payroll records
Failing to maintain proper payroll documentation leaves the company without evidence in case of a labour dispute or government audit.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is WPS mandatory for all UAE businesses?
Yes. The Wages Protection System is mandatory for all mainland UAE companies registered with MOHRE. Salaries must be paid within the timeframe specified by MOHRE and all payments must be made through approved financial institutions. Non-compliance results in fines and can lead to business activity suspension.
How is Gratuity calculated in the UAE?
End-of-service gratuity is based on the employee's basic salary and length of service. For service of one to five years, gratuity is calculated at 21 days of basic salary per year. For service beyond five years, it increases to 30 days per year. The calculation also differs depending on whether the employee resigned or was terminated.
Can we switch to your payroll service mid-year?
Yes. We review your existing payroll records, identify any gaps or corrections needed, and take over the monthly cycle from there. There is no minimum commitment period.
What information do we need to provide each month?
At a minimum, a list of active employees with any changes for the month: new joiners, leavers, salary adjustments, leave taken, and any one-off payments or deductions. We provide a standard input template to keep the process straightforward.
Can you handle payroll for both mainland and free zone companies?
Yes. We handle payroll for mainland companies under MOHRE and for free zone companies under their respective authority. WPS requirements and leave entitlements apply in both cases, with some variation by free zone.
